January 16, 2013 A Son and His Father, A Father's Blessing

Genesis 48 - 50

And it came to pass after these things, that one told Joseph, Behold, thy father is sick: and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.
And one told Jacob, and said, Behold, thy son Joseph cometh unto thee: and Israel strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed.
And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,
And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession.

Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:
The blessings of thy father have prevailed above the blessings of my progenitors unto the utmost bound of the everlasting hills: they shall be on the head of Joseph, and on the crown of the head of him that was separate from his brethren.

And Joseph went up to bury his father: and with him went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders of his house, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,

And all the house of Joseph, and his brethren, and his father's house: only their little ones, and their flocks, and their herds, they left in the land of Goshen.

And Joseph said unto his brethren, I die: and God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land unto the land which he sware to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

January 15, 2013 A father and his family

Genesis 46 - 47

And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I.
And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:
I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.
And Jacob rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.

And Pharaoh spake unto Joseph, saying, Thy father and thy brethren are come unto thee:
The land of Egypt is before thee; in the best of the land make thy father and brethren to dwell; in the land of Goshen let them dwell: and if thou knowest any men of activity among them, then make them rulers over my cattle.

January 14, 2013 Joseph A loving Brother

Genesis 43 - 45

Joseph's brothers return to Egypt. Joseph reveals his identity to his brothers .

"And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.

Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.
And they went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan unto Jacob their father,

And told him, saying, Joseph is yet alive, and he is governor over all the land of Egypt. And Jacob's heart fainted, for he believed them not.

And they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said unto them: and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob their father revived:

And Israel said, It is enough; Joseph my son is yet alive: I will go and see him before I die."

January 13, 2013 Unto Joseph were born two sons...

Genesis 41 - 42
And unto Joseph were born two sons before the years of famine came, which Asenath the daughter of Potipherah priest of On bare unto him.

And Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: For God, said he, hath made me forget all my toil, and all my father's house.

And the name of the second called he Ephraim: For God hath caused me to be fruitful in the land of my affliction.

January 12, 2013 Joseph, A man of God

Genesis Chapters 38 - 40

And Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him of the hands of the Ishmeelites, which had brought him down thither.

And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian.

And his master saw that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand.

And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand.

And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house, and over all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the Lord was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field.

And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly person, and well favoured.
God Promises His protection and blessings
when we decide to serve Him.

January 11, 2013 Israel loved Joseph

Genesis Chapters 35 - 37

"Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children,
because he was the son of his old age:
and he made his a coat of many colours.
And when his brothers saw that their father loved him
 more than all the brothers,
they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him."

"And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brothers,
that they stript Joseph out of his coat,
his coat of many colours that was on him"

Joseph's brothers then went and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites,
then they sold him to the Captain of the guard, an Egyptian.

And again God has to make a way for the journey to continue.

January 8, 2013 Jacob's Vow

Genesis Chapters 27 - 29

"And Jacob vowed a vow, saying,
If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go,
and will give me bread to eat and raiment to put on,
So that I come again to my father's house in peace;
then shall the Lord be my God."

I know that God is always with me. I know He has and always will be.
God keeps me on the right road in life, meets my needs along the way.
These "Thoughts from my Heart" are straight from the Heart of God...
I love reading God's Word.
Thoughts of love, joy, peace, gentleness, goodness and faith surround my day. Kinda like hanging out at God's house,
kick my shoes off and sit a spell, in peace just me and my God. Thinking things over and being thankful.

January 6, 2013 A Blessing for Isaac and Rebekah

Genesis Chapters 22 - 24

Isaac and Rebekah

These records in Gods Word are sterling examples
of men and women, husband and wives who loved God
 and loved each other.
How thankful I am that I have a loving husband who loves God
and loves His Word and loves me.

He is tenderhearted and kind, patient and forgiving...
he lifts me up when I am down,
makes me laugh when I want to cry
and he is faithful each night to say...
Goodnight Sweetheart and I in return say... Night Honey...love you..  and I can then fall asleep in peace when he says... love you too.

And as God has promised the sun will come up each morning
and another opportunity to acknowledge each other with...
Good Morning Sweetheart... Morning Honey and a day doesn't go by as we leave for work and you get to hear again...
love you sweetheart... love you honey...see ya tonight...

Try it... its make for a joyful day and keeps you thankful.

Life is way to short to go to bed mad
or even go to bed without acknowledging the love
between the two people who are right there at each others side
every night and at the beginning of each new day.

January 5, 2013 Continued: A Promise to Abraham and Sarah

Genesis Chapters 19 - 21

And the Lord visited Sarah as he had said,
and the Lord did unto Sarah as he had spoken.
For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age,
at the set time of which God had spoken.

When God says something...
God will do that which He said he will do and
and when we pray... God hears our prayers,
Our timetable is not always Gods timetable.
But God is never late...Just keep believing!

January 5, 2013 A Promise to Abram

      Genesis Chapters 16 - 18

~ God makes a promise to Abraham and Sarah ~

" And I will make you exceeding fruitful,
and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come out of thee.
And I will establish my covenant (promise) between me and you and your seed after you in their generations
 for an everlasting covenant (promise),
to be a God unto you, and to your
 seed after thee."

Still today God's promises are true, He is our God,
our heavenly father that watches over each and everyone of us.
Just like our father and mother did for us... God will continue
to love us, protect us and be right by our side.
So many more promises to find in God's Word...will find more tomorrow!

January 4, 2012 The call of Abram

Genesis 12 - 15

The Word of God is the Will of God.
The Word of God is God's promises to me.
If I want to know God's will for my life and
if I want to know the promises He has for me,
I have to go to His Word and seek out
His will and His promises to me.
God is willing and able to perform
 all that He has promised...
when I seek Him through His Word.
I look for God's Blessing and keep my eyes and my heart open
to all God has done and will do for me each and every day.

January 3, 2013 The Ark,dove and the rainbow

Genesis Chapters 8 - 12

Noah and the ark...
And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, " Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth.

Abram and Sarah...
Now the Lord had said unto Abram, "Get thee out of thy country, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee: and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing.
Another of God's promises is that he will provide what we need to live and great men and woman to lead and guide us along the way.

January 2, 2013 Adam unto Noah

Genesis chapters 4 - 7

Genealogy of the patriarch's from Adam to Noah
God's promise of generations of family.
Genesis 6: 18-19
But with thee I will establish my covenant; (promise)and thou shall come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee. And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.
Noah believed the promise of God and Noah saved his family and all the families to come.
God will make a way for His children to be safe and live a life full with family and friends. God knows we need each other, just another reason we stay thankful to God for our family and our friends. His promises are true and God is always faithful to fulfill His promises when we believe.

January 1, 2013 The creation of man and the garden of Eden

My Journey begins...In the beginning...Genesis chapters 1-3. God created the heavens and earth in the beginning. " God alone conceived, designed and ordered life - all of it, from man to the earth to the entire universe. Only His mind could conceive it; only His power could create it; and only His ability could achieve it."   Quote from "Order My Steps In Thy Word" VPW.
I have learned that the earth is the reason for the universe and man is the reason for the earth and God is the reason for man. Man is the most wonderful of all God's creation and His Word says the greatest of His works is His Word. Life is a gift, it's a promise from God. So, on this first day of this new year lets live up to the promise and live life to its fullest being thankful to God for each new day.
